Roxas, Abaya binaboy ang MRT3 - Roque

Recent in-depth studies done by Sumitomo Corporation with MRT-3 revealed even more complications than expected.  Other assigned consortiums as maintenance provider for the trains along with Busan Universal Rail Inc. (BURI) were proven simply incompetent in terms of fund management and technical.
This statement is said by Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque following reports that Sumitomo ‘barely considered’ the government’s plea for rehire as the official maintenance provider since it lost the maintenance contract after 12 years back in 2012 under the previous administration.

To recall, the termination of Sumitomo Corp.’s contract became controversial when former Sec. Mar Roxas II was still the DILG Secretary as certain conditions for extending the contract may not benefit the service.

The result of that decision clearly manifested the culprit as MRT-3 is continually plagued with bigger problems over time.

President Rodrigo Duterte once ordered Solicitor General Jose Calida to file plunder cases against the Mar Roxas and Joseph Emilio Abaya due to all the anomalies involved with MRT3 that this government inherited from the previous administration.
