Marawi soldiers ‘real’ Filipinos of the Year 2017 – Bongbong Marcos

Marcos pays tribute to the Marawi City soldiers and called them, “Filipinos of the Year 2017”
On Monday (January 8, 2018), Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. recently visited war-torn Marawi City, to pay tribute to the government troops he called “The Real Filipinos of the Year”, who risked their lives to seize the terrorists and bring back the city’s peace.

On his social media accounts, Marcos posted pictures with caption wherein, he was standing beside them and dining with them in a boodlefight.

Below are some of the captions on Marcos’ posts.

“Standing tall alongside the real Filipinos Of The Year  #Marawi,” Marcos’ tweet caption.

“Food tastes so much better when dining amongst the real Filipinos Of The Year. “ Another Marcos’ tweet caption.

“We have a love and appreciation for our modern-day Filipino heroes that is deep and real and permanent,” Marcos’ Facebook post caption.

Talking about the “Filipino of the Year 2017”, despite of what the Filipino soldiers did to stop the war in Marawi City, the Inquirer’s editors still recognized Jover Laurio, also known as Pinoy Ako Blog for the said award. A decision that Blogger Krizette Laureta Chu, a blogger and a social media icon, deplored.
