Duterte sa mga Indian businessmen: ‘Protektahan ko kayo, wag lang madawit sa kurapsyon’

During his visit in New Delhi for the commemorative summit for member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), where India was chosen as the host, President Rodrigo Duterte assured the Indian businessmen, during the Philippines-India Business Forum he attended, that there is nothing to worry if incase, they will invest in the Philippines.
Duterte also promised that he is just one call away incase they are being given a hard time in putting up their business, as long as they won’t be involved in any form of corruption.

“If you give the bribe money and I come to know about it you’ll find your applications in the waste basket. But if you do right, I will assure you of protection. If there is someone making it hard for you, making unreasonable demands, let me know. I will protect you, just do not give in to corruption. You are not obliged to spend even P100. We invite, we protect,” said Duterte.

To ease their worries and doubts, Duterte also explained his reason for declaring Martial Law in Mindanao and assured them that it won’t affect their businesses.

“Our military forces are just trying to stop the terrorism of the ISIS-inspired groups in our country” Duterte said.

President Duterte expressed his excitement in looking forward to see the businesses that they will put up in the country, specially those of pharmaceutical products.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) had already expressed their trust to Duterte that he will bring $1.25 billion investment pledges that would create more or less ten thousand jobs.

Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez added that the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council that would result to affordable medicines.
The Adani Green, a solar power generation & manufacturing company, has invested $1.1 billion in the country.

Business process outsourcing (BPO) companies in India also pledged that they will put up call center companies in the country.
