200 fiberglass fishing boat at 2-M fingerlings ipinagkaloob ng Duterte admin sa mga mangingisda

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources , led by Undersecretary Eduardo Gongona,Undersecretary Eduardo Gongona, held a simple ceremony in towns surrounding the Lake Lanao on Tuesday (January 4) wherein, President Rodrigo Duterte fulfilled his commitment to the residences of war-torn Marawi City and Lanao del Sur that was recently affected by Typhoon Vinta, by turning over 200 fiberglass fishing boats and estimated 2 million fingerlings of Tilapia, which is a part of the administration’s rehabilitation program.
The activity was attended by the Mayors of each lakeside towns,  including families of fishermen and members of women's organization who presented their concerns to the Department of Agriculture Secretary during the open forum.

Aside from this, each family-beneficiary of the fiberglass fishing boat received P2,500 as initial start-up capital, provided by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries ARMM (DAF-ARMM).

Due to unpredictable weather, the activity almost did not push through, the reason why it had been on a long delay.

According to the fishermen, the fiberglass fishing boats are the first ever "decent" assistance they received from BFAR. 

During the open forum, local leaders raised lots of agriculture-related concerns and requests and were approved by the DA  like the setting up hatcheries for indigenous fish (Kanduli and the White Biya), establishment of post-harvest and processing facilities for fish caught in the Lake.

It is expected that 10,000 bags of White Corn Seeds, including fertilizers, will be delivered to farmers in the province in time for the next planting season while 40 huge farm tractors and 60 smaller tractors that include transplanter and harvester were turned he farm will also be turned over to the Army Agricultural Engineering  Corps by the DA.

Aside from above mentioned, other like repair of their irrigation systems, the construction of farm to market roads and the rehabilitation of at least two agricultural schools in the province were also raised by the local leaders and its residents.

These fulfillment's of President Duterte only show that he is true to his promises and will do everything to change the Philippines for the better.
