New York Alumnus to President Duterte: Arrest Trillanes when he arrives in Manila



Senator Antonio Trillanes IV was currently in Washington DC to meet up United States (US) senator Marco Rubio.
According to the US senator's tweet, they will discussed about the corruption and protecting the human rights in the Philippines.

Senator Rubio was allegedly charged by senior leaders of Venezuela for plotting to topple the government of Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro.



Reacting to Trillanes Washington visits, New York University Alumnus and international writer Krizette Laureta Chu, wrote an open letter to Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte published through her Facebook account.


In her post, Chu addressing President Duterte, gained support from netizens where she expressed her harangue over Senator Trillanes IV whom she called a traitor.

Chu said that Trillianes is trying to overthrow the government to help the enemies where he creates negative image to give the other countries leaders a negative impression about the Philippines like for being a “killing field” and corrupt.


"He is going around painting a negative image of this country, convincing leaders of the most powerful country that our country is corrupt and has become a killing field, and planning to wrest power from a democratically elected leader." Chu said.
 
She strongly expressed how badly she wants Trillanes to be arrested and suggested to arrest him as soon as he arrives in Manila.

"Dear President Duterte,

"What Trillanes is doing is pure and simple treason.

"He is going around painting a negative image of this country, convincing leaders of the most powerful country that our country is corrupt and has become a killing field, and planning to wrest power from a democratically elected leader.

"Arrest him when he arrives in Manila.

"If his supporters take to the streets, we will take to the streets.

"If it becomes physical, then so be it. We are ready to defend this country from traitors. I am sure our soldiers will readily have your back.

"Arrest him. He can explain his side in jail.

"You have our unwavering support.

"#ARRESTTRILLANES


Meanwhile, according to the report, senator Trillanes is trying to convince US senators to discourage US President Trump from proceeding with his trip to the Philippines on November for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Leaders’ Summit.



US Sen. Marco Rubio confirmed the meeting with Trillanes through his official Twitter account on Oct. 18.

“Senator Trillanes and I discussed US-Philippines alliance, combating corruption and protecting human rights amid their narcotics crisis,” Rubio wrote.

According to the staff of Trillanes who declinedd to be identified, expressed surprised over the reports that Trillanes was trying to discourage US officials from attending the ASEAN leaders summit.

“We don’t know anything about that but the senator is indeed in LA (Los Angeles),” the staff member said.



Trillanes also met with other US lawmakers, sources said.

“Trillanes has been discussing the human rights situation in the country and trying to convince the US senators to discourage Trump from coming to the Philippines,” a source said yesterday.

However, the source said that Trump’s visit to the Philippines is for the ASEAN summit.

“The visit is really about ASEAN and not just the Philippines,” the source said.
